This is Andrew's little baby mouth from almost three months ago. We were sure he was going to lose his first tooth back in March- a very important milestone. He has watched every kid in his class lose teeth left and right (and top and bottom) all through 1st grade. He watched as they got prizes for every tooth lost and pats on the back from admiring classmates. He would give me a report almost everyday about who lost what tooth and how much money they got from the Tooth Fairy.
His bottom two teeth were
so loose for weeks and weeks. We would try very hard to get them out every night, especially when we saw his permanent teeth growing in behind them. Aaahh! But there was no budging!

Andrew decided to make his very own pocket to hold his future teeth in, and his future money. He wanted to show the Tooth Fairy that he was ready to lose his teeth and he was ready to be paid for them, too. It was so cute!! He did a great job.
Well, after about two months, we decided to take him to the dentist. They numbed him up, grabbed the pliers, and pulled and yanked and twisted his first baby tooth out. When it came out I said, "Oh, you just got old," and a part of me was so sad even though I knew that's what was going to happen. The dentist pulled out the one next to it (at no extra charge!) because he said it was going to be stubborn too.

A few weeks later, Andrew was eating some french toast and suddenly said, "Sweeet!" I looked over and his top tooth was out. Nice 'n easy! Now he has the cutest, hugest hole in the front of his mouth and the cutest, though temporary, little lisp. He's my big little boy!
